Inspiration
This deceptively large home has incredible views on two levels of the ocean and two cooler quieter suites downstairs that look onto a small green garden.
The setting called for a reflection of the sea colors, the magnificent turquoise, darker blues, and the moody grey tones.
Process
The house was overrun with travertine marble and large mirrors were used to both lighten the effect of the overwhelming marble.
Side tables were designed and made, topped with raw wood and finished with a rubbed low gloss chrome. Top-quality linen was also made to ensure optimum comfort.
The lounge, kitchen and tv room are an open plan space that opens up completely with the installation of sliding glass panes. The balustrading was replaced with glass panes to optimize the stunning view. Dark navy stripes and midnight blue velvet cushions recall naval times and the area was lightened with brilliant red but used sparingly. The massive Gabriel Briel abstract captures the coastal themes perfectly and further art was sourced locally and from final year art student exhibitions.
Result
People love the space and feel spoiled yet at home, the ultimate accolade!!
